Planning Storyboard For My Music Video

Scene one will likely contain several actors loading a car in preparation for a road trip. Two dogs will also be included. I will be filming in full shot and POV and it will occur in my driveway. In the second scene, I will film a scene of the car driving or a shot of the road from inside of the car. This scene will be shot in POV or over the shoulder angles. In scene three, I will film actors in the car singing along to the song and dancing in their seats. This scene will be shot in POV and mid-length angles. The first stop we make will be the fourth scene. Most likely this will be at a gas station or rest stop and I will record actors stretching or going inside the store. This scene will be a POV shot. At the same location as scene four or another stop we make, I will film scene five walking the dogs, most likely with the younger actors. This will also be a POV shot. Then I will record our arrival at the hotel for scene six. This will serve as a break from the moving scene. POV will continues in this scene. Scene seven will be from inside the hotel room, probably at night, and feature relaxing or playing. This scene will be a panning shot. In the eighth scene, I will record scenes of actors walking though the town as tourists. This scene will be full shot and tracking. n scene nine, I will film another scene from the car as the trip continues. This scene will be a POV again. I will then film an arrival scene at the last stop which is a friend's house as the tenth scene. This will be a POV from the car showing the actors and house through the car window. The eleventh scene will contain a walking or hiking scene in a forest. It will be POV and a full or mid-length shot and include the dogs. The last scene will probably be one of thanksgiving dinner. It will include preparations and mealtime. This scene will be POV or panning. I am expecting these scene to change slightly or be replaced with other scenes over the course of this process. Due to the volatility and probability of each scene, changes may occur. Additional scenes may be added. I have accommodated for these expectations. [11/20/20]

This project will probably be one of my favorites from this class. This ended up being a very personal project and a refection on one of my life experiences. Because I filmed the project in my persepctive, it gave me a chance to review what I found most interesting and what I actually spent most of time looking at or experiencing throughout my day. Choosing what memories I wanted to share and how I wanted them to be perceived was actually a very interesting process. This project was a progression of my journey. CCR Question 2: Navier

How does your final task represent social groups or issues)? My final tasks feature a female heroine. In doing this, I hope not only to represent a gender, but also to break several preconceived notions. For example, Navier, my protagonist, is a skilled fighter and talented combatant with a silver tongue; however, I also hope to establish that she is also someone who also enjoys things that fit into a typically feminine stereotype; something that has recently become something for girls to be shamed for liking. Navier can kick a bad guy’s butt in a ball gown and prefers if her knives have pink handles. By implementing aspects of femininity into a role that would be usually masculine, I hope to encourage little girls to be whatever and whoever they want, without having to worry about roles or stereotypes. Filming Blog: Music Video

My filming process began Saturday, November 21. This was the first day of the Thanksgiving break and the day that my family and I began our road trip to North Carolina. I chose to film during this time because of the timing of my prior blogs and due to practicality. I was hesitant at first with this process because the footage I had filmed was so wildly different from the contents of M.I.A.'s Paper Plane music video. I was concerned that the difference would cause some issues in how the song was intended to be portrayed. I showed a very different side of the Paper Plane's message by contrasting the lyrics with the images to add emphasis which I hope showed a more personal representation and interpretation. Still, my concerns remain and I may change my song choice in the editing part to fit my scenes better. My footage has scenes from the beginning of my journey all the way to the end.
