These people seem to be represented in the opening sequence and the suggestion of a game between such individuals suggests a lot of drama and excitement. What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? They stir interest by creating an image of wealth, mystery and espionage. Choosing not to show that faces of the main characters allows the viewer to make assumptions about their appearance. However, the use of figurines from the popular game, monopoly, help the audience understand the background of the leads as well as make judgments on their personalities and appearances. How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques. The camera angles are close up to all the figures in the opening sequence. The background music was non-lyrical and similar to casino music. Transitions were employed fade to move scenes. Zoom was also an important editing technique in this opening sequences.

CCR Question 2: Navier

How does your final task represent social groups or issues)? My final tasks feature a female heroine. In doing this, I hope not only to represent a gender, but also to break several preconceived notions. For example, Navier, my protagonist, is a skilled fighter and talented combatant with a silver tongue; however, I also hope to establish that she is also someone who also enjoys things that fit into a typically feminine stereotype; something that has recently become something for girls to be shamed for liking. Navier can kick a bad guy’s butt in a ball gown and prefers if her knives have pink handles. By implementing aspects of femininity into a role that would be usually masculine, I hope to encourage little girls to be whatever and whoever they want, without having to worry about roles or stereotypes. Filming Blog: Music Video

My filming process began Saturday, November 21. This was the first day of the Thanksgiving break and the day that my family and I began our road trip to North Carolina. I chose to film during this time because of the timing of my prior blogs and due to practicality. I was hesitant at first with this process because the footage I had filmed was so wildly different from the contents of M.I.A.'s Paper Plane music video. I was concerned that the difference would cause some issues in how the song was intended to be portrayed. I showed a very different side of the Paper Plane's message by contrasting the lyrics with the images to add emphasis which I hope showed a more personal representation and interpretation.
