New Location

I have not filmed any additional footage since the last time I blogged. This this is because I have been busy moving to a new location. I have finished all my recording in the previous location and am preparing to film my final scenes this weekend. This includes the water scenes as well as the running scenes, which I couldn't film before. Like I've mentioned before, I haven't made any official or final changes to the script or storyboard. Any changes that happen will likely be in the editing process. It would be then that I would review my footage and make sure it matches my standards. This includes time, sound, music, scene order, scene content, etc.. For the first time, staff besides the main actor and I will be involved in the filming process. To stay as safe as possible during this pandemic, I will be using only family members for the additional actors. This includes my parents, who are also serving as part of the safety crew, my two sisters, and even my dogs. There is a chance that we will have to delay recording. There is always a chance for rain which would cause issues for a few scenes. It may also be possible that some of the actors, most importantly the main actor, won't be available.If this occurs, then I will simply arrange for another meetup either on another weekend or during spring break. I have also been looking a song options. After some research, I've started leaning towards non-lyrical music. Its way easier to find royalty free acoustic music than anything with lyrics. I will; however, still be looking out for any songs that match the them of this video. Despite my searching I have yet to find a song tha fits the feeling I'm going for. It can be hard to find quality, royalty music for free.

Introduction to the Music Video Project

For this project, I plan on working by myself. I chose to do this so that I would not have to correspond and plan with other individuals. I tend to travel around this time of year and to prevent problems with that, working by myself makes sense. I also have a clear understanding of my own abilities so I know what areas to spend more time on and what areas I can do easily. Another reason is that I don't want to have to worry about teammates following through on their parts. Sometimes even the nicest people can be bad teammates in a group project. Due to COVID-19 and the quarantine which prevents us from going to school, I don't know any of my classmates very well and so to solve the problem of bad groupmates, I plan on avoiding them altogether. It also allows me to work at my own pace without worrying about who has to do what. Filming Blog: Music Video

My filming process began Saturday, November 21. This was the first day of the Thanksgiving break and the day that my family and I began our road trip to North Carolina. I chose to film during this time because of the timing of my prior blogs and due to practicality. I was hesitant at first with this process because the footage I had filmed was so wildly different from the contents of M.I.A.'s Paper Plane music video. I was concerned that the difference would cause some issues in how the song was intended to be portrayed. I showed a very different side of the Paper Plane's message by contrasting the lyrics with the images to add emphasis which I hope showed a more personal representation and interpretation.
