Planning Blog: Storyboard

The main character of this story is called Navier which is why the film title shares that name. She is an undying mercenary with a wicked sense of humor. Though it is not conveyed in the opening sequence, she eventually goes on to work as a bodyguard/babysitter for a young, rich child. Navier is the only character that is established in these scenes. In the opening sequence, I attempted to establish her personality, experience, and power.

    I plan on shooting a medicine commercial, specifically for Humira. Humira is the brand name for an immunosuppressive drug called Adalimumab. It is used to treat arthritis, plaque psoriasis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis. The commercials for this brand, as well as many of the brands in this industry, strongly imply that taking this medication improves quality of life and personal relationships. How would your final task be distributed as a real media text? I believe the most influential marketing tool is social media. As action movies are typically focused on a younger audience, I believe popular social platforms will be the most effective advertisements. Of course, other methods of marketing would be used; however social media would be the priority as its influence has risen in recent years. Sharing the trailer of my film on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok could be influential in terms of viewer turn out. Its important to focus the marketing to the right people, otherwise its simply money wasted. And social media is filled with an accurate target audience. Short clips with intense visual impact are most effective in drawing in viewers. The attention span of modern society is dropping so the first few seconds of a clip should be high impact. The song used in this music video is called Hey, Soul Sister, and was created by an American rock band, Train. It was released as part of the band's fifth studio album, Save Me, San Fransisco in 2009. The song was written by singer Patrick Monahan and is a tribute to their hometown and "the group's folk-rock roots". The song has since sold over 6 million copies, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100, and won a Grammy as well as a Billboard Music Award. 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? This song is classified as a mid-tempo pop-rock song but it doesn't match typical lyrical and melodical norms for this genre. It was written in the key, E Major, and moves at 97 bpm. The song has a signature pattern of ukulele, something fairly uncommon in pop.
