Preparing For Final Recording
There has been no new filming since my last update. The lack of progress can be attributed to one particular reasons; the staff is not available. Both the main actor and the director have been very busy with school and other activities. The workweek has been particularly hectic as the quarter has been ending. Furthermore, the lack of accessible transportation and the large distance between locations has been a difficult problem to overcome. This means the main actor and producer have been forced to rely on others and most accommodate their schedules. Therefore, the upcoming spring break will serve as the final filming period. Over a period of 24-72 hours the last scenes will be recorded. I will then review any footage so see if anything has to be redone and also make sure I have enough video to meet the 2 minutes requirement. I also plan to try to edit during this time. This is one of the steps I'm looking forward to most in this project. Being able to see everything come together is something I didn't realize before that I found really fulfilling. My music choice has still not been finalised. Reviewing the footage is really important before making a final decision. I suspect I may have to work on the audio as well. Background noise may be a bigger issue then expected so certain scenes may have to have separate audio recordings overlayed. For example, in some scenes you can hear my laughter in the back of the video (unprofessional I know). Unfortunately, I cannot redo these scenes and I simply plan on muting them and voicing over the appropriate parts. Hopefully this process goes smoothly as I have never dubbed in scene audio; I've only ever done voiceover. This is something that also requires the main actor to be present as the audio must be consistent.
